MPC Capital increases profitability in the first half of 2023

The first half of 2023 was extremely successful for the MPC Capital Group - increased focus on decarbonisation of real assets

Hamburg, 24 August 2023 - MPC Capital AG (Deutsche Börse Scale, ISIN DE000A1TNWJ4), an international asset and investment manager of real assets, today announces its half-year financial report 2023.

The first half of 2023 was extremely successful for the MPC Capital Group. With an increased focus on decarbonisation of real assets, the company initiated several projects. This includes the purchase and connection of another property for the ESG Core Wohnimmobilien Deutschland fund and three new renewables projects in South and Central America. In addition, MPC Capital laid the foundation for its market entry in Guatemala by initiating a 65 MWp photovoltaic project. In the Shipping segment, the company successfully initiated the acquisition of a modern container ship fleet worth USD 150 million, in cooperation with various investors.

The MPC Capital Group's revenues amounted to EUR 17.2 million in the first half of 2023 (H1 2022: EUR 18.7 million). While revenues from the transaction business decreased compared to the previous year, the outlook for the second half of the year is positive. Operating EBT margin increased to 54% in H1 2023

The tangible assets managed by MPC Capital reached EUR 4.0 billion as at 30 June 2023. The company recorded additions and disposals of assets worth EUR 0.2 billion and generated a slightly higher cash balance of EUR 70.9 million despite dividend distributions.

The forecast for the full year 2023 was confirmed by the Executive Board. The management expects a stable Group turnover, with a further improvement in profitability forecast.

Ulf Holländer, CEO of MPC Capital AG, emphasised the resilience of the business model and the successful adaptation to difficult market conditions. The diversification of the business areas enables the company to take advantage of opportunities and compensate for temporary weaknesses.

The MPC Capital Group's revenues amounted to EUR 17.2 million in the first half of 2023.
